Description

The Vernon Museum and the Vernon Branch of the Okanagan Historical Society are excited to welcome Bob O’Donnell—known to many as “The Fossil Guy”—for a fun and fascinating installment of the Hometown Histories Speaker Series. The presentation will take place on Saturday, August 23, at 1:00 PM at the Vernon Museum (3009 32nd Avenue) and is suitable for all ages. Recently relocated to Vernon, Bob brings a lifelong passion for fossil collecting and public education to his new community. He began collecting fossils as a child during trips to Arkona, Ontario, and has since dedicated decades to sharing his knowledge through presentations, field trips, and museum work. As the former curator of the Arkona Lions Museum and Information Centre, Bob has inspired countless families to explore the natural world around them, starting with what lies beneath their feet. Don’t miss this engaging and educational event! Join us in person at the Vernon Museum on August 23 at 1:00 PM. Tickets are $10 per adult and $7 per child, and can be purchased online at: https://vernonmuseum.ca/events/speaker-series-with-bob-odonnell-the-fossil-guy/ Proceeds support both the MAV and the OHS.
