The Vernon Jazz Club welcomes bassist, composer, and bandleader Aretha Tillotson, one of the most compelling voices in the new wave of Canadian jazz. JUNO-nominated and 2024 Western Canadian Music Award winner, Tillotson has performed across North America. Blending strong composition with deeply grounded bass work capable of shifting seamlessly from anchoring the groove to front-line soloing, Tillotson showcases original music rooted in Western Canadian ideas and landscapes and contemporary jazz language, brought to life by top-tier collaborators. The Quartet is made up of Aretha Tillotson, Feven Kidane - trumpet, Daive Laing - drums and Donny Kennedy - alto sax.
